St. Petersburg – Kendall Browning of Land O’ Lakes, Fla., and her JD Krew participate in the 2014 Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Walk to Cure Diabetes on April 12, held at Fort De Soto Park to raise money to help find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). It is important for people to be aware of the impact that T1D has on a person’s life. For example, it is important to check one’s blood sugar frequently, administer insulin as needed, eat healthy, exercise often, and frequently visit doctors. Kendall stated, “I did not choose to have this disease, it chose me!” It is inspiring to see the amount of people that show up every year,” said her mother Helen Browning of Land O’ Lakes, Fla. Restaurants, Pharmaceutical Companies, All Children’s Hospital and Disney showed support through their services by providing food, resources, and entertainment to support and increase public awareness. Kendall’s family works very hard throughout the year to increase donations for future research. Kendall said, “I am very excited to see other individuals taking this disease more seriously and are getting involved to find a cure for T1D in the near future.”
